OUT OF THE BLUE
Out of the Blue the 1980 film featuring and directed by Dennis Hopper. The film is written and produced by Gary Jules Jouvenat. It was competing for the Palme d'or at Cannes Film Festival 1980.
It will focus on rebellious young girl (Linda Manz), interest in Elvis Presley and punk-rock music, her ex-convict, a truck driver father (Dennis Hopper) and her high-strung mother (Sharon Farrell). The title is borrowed from Neil Young's song 'My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)'.

what is Palme d'or?
I love this film so much. So close to my heart, and the protagonist/anti-hero takes such a beautifully nihilistic stance against the "normals" that's as inspiring as it is pretentious. I've been trying to find this character in the "scene" and in myself for an embarrassingly long time. Will I ever find you, Cebe?
I`D LIKE SO BAD TO KNOW ELVIS`SONG NAME ON THIS HOPPER`S WORK OF ART; CUDDYA TELL ME PLZ?
Ronnie, the Palme D'or, or Golden Palm, is the highest award at the Cannes Film Festival. It's unfortunate that a movie so well received could be forgotten within a only few decades.
I'm glad that you enjoy this one, Defensive - everyone should hold on to their inner Cebe to some degree, right? Oh, that Linda Manz - she has such an enigmatic and ageless face. She's in so few things, but always gives a memorable performance. She's also terrific in Days of Heaven and Gummo, but this is the role she was born to play.
Lucifer: I think the soundtrack contains two tracks by The King: 'Heartbreak Hotel' and 'Teddy Bear'.
xo
By the way, D.L., I was embarrassed to realize that I had not linked to you. This will be rectified.
well, thanks for answering, at first: teddy bear for sure, I even hv this one, the 1st verses are, when your babe leaves you/ you got nowhere to go/ couldn`t get the chorus...eventhough it`s a classic.
In my opinion Hopper is a genius and this movie is one of the best I`ve ever sen, I`m from Brasil and it hasn`t even been showed o`er here yet.
Merci Beaucoup Georgie!
No problem, Georgie. Glad to see an article on you, by the way.
I take it the film didn't win. That's too bad.
