
L'eclisse(The Eclipse) is a 1962 film directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. It is considered the last of a trilogy that also includes L'avventura and La Notte.
At the dawn of 10 July 1961 a young literary translator, Vittoria (Monica Vitti) breaks her relationship with a writer and the beginning of a summer romance with Piero (Alain Delon), an energetic young stockbroker. They are incapable of forming a stable relationship, and shortly before sunset at 20:00, 10 September 1961, they seem not to answer, as agreed at the corner of Viale del Ciclismo and Viale della Tecnica by the construction of a new building in the Esposizione Universale Roma(EUR), a modern district of the southern suburbs of Rome, where Vittoria lives.
