WHO I AM AND WHAT I WANT

Chris Shepherd and David Shrigley, 2005 (7 min. 20 sec.)

'This is about who I am and what I want. It’s not about who you are and what you want. You always think everything I write is about you but it’s not. It’s all about me. So don’t get upset and say that I misunderstand you because it’s not your words I’m writing it’s mine. I don’t care about you and I don’t care about what you want just shut up and
listen...' – David Shrigley

'Who I am…' (Excerpt)

EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE! THE MOVIE

Ghoul Skool, Commodore Gilgamesh, and Future Schlock, 2009 (51 min.)

If you find amusement acknowledging tracking problems on a video uploaded to Youtube, this is an hour for you.

Continuing in the visual tradition of Doug Smith’s SubGenius Barrage tape, the work of Craig Baldwin, and more recently the methods of TV Carnage and Animal Charm, EIT takes discarded VHS instructional tapes, vanity projects of deluded 'experts', and some of the stupidest films ever made, to present an hour perfectly honed for another generation laughing at the latest dead media.

'SINGING BABIES!'

'The Ballad of Vincent'

ROCK & ROLL SCOPITONES

Compiled by Spike Priggen, 2009 (90 min.)

Forerunner of the music video, Scopitones were a type of jukebox with a 16mm film component. Having gained popularity in Europe in the 1950s, eventually the machines could be found in the United States by the mid -1960s.

Musician Spike Priggen (author of the Bedazzled blog) has compiled 39 of his favorite Scopitone films for this unusual collection. Featuring Rockabilly, Garage, Yé-Yé, Pop-Psych, Surf, Instrumental, R&B, and Folk-Rock acts.

DARK PREY YOU

You are one of many on this cold, wet evening. The fog was heavy iron cloud on the brick street that affect the sound from each fingerprint. As you escape through the alley lined with waste, you realize another set of tracks next to you, and not merely an echo of the death of cooling. You hope that this labyrinth of decaying cement corridors will lead you life, as you hurry along, trying not to reveal fear. You are still in progress, but you do not know who or what.....

White Car - A Figure in the Dark

You finally have your way back to a dim street where the smell of garbage transforms suddenly into burning oil. Across, an agent of diamonds gold abuses the female pleasures as a man of no legs appeals to you from the sidewalk 'friend.' Turn its direction, like a White Car swerves toward you. You dive in time and gaze of passengers through wet glass - 'The eyes, oh my god, what wrong was of the eyes?'

Tuxedomoon - Dark Companion

As you slowly get to feet, the dust from your mantle, you can feel the eyes piercing the back of your neck. You turn see the shadow of the silhouette of your harasser and become frozen of shock and the lights reveal identities. It is a face you recognize in the depths of your unconscious, a face that has haunted you most horrific nightmares since .... that terrible night. Wondering if you dream that now the figure is closer and think about you as the chest and narrows the airways constrict, 'How did ____________ survive?'

LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD

'....as if the ground were still sand or gravel or flagstones over which I walked once again along these corridors, through these salons and galleries, in this edifice of a bygone era, this sprawling, sumptuous, baroque, gloomy hotel, where one endless corridor follows another....

....silent rooms where one's footsteps are absorbed by carpets so thick, so heavy, that no sound reaches one's ear, as if the very ear of him who walks on once again along these corridors, through these salons and galleries, in this edifice of a bygone era....

....sculpted doorframes, rows of doorways, galleries, side corridors that in turn lead to empty salons heavy with ornamentation of a bygone era, silent rooms, where one's footsteps are absorbed by carpets so thick, so heavy, that no sound reaches one's ear, as if the very ear....

....flagstones over which I walked once again, along these corridors, through these salons and galleries, in this edifice of a bygone era, this sprawling, sumptuous, baroque, gloomy hotel, where one endless corridor follows another, silent and deserted, heavy with cold, dark woodwork, stucco, molded paneling, marble, black mirrors, dark-toned portraits, columns, sculpted doorframes, rows of doorways, galleries, side corridors that in turn lead to empty salons heavy with ornamentation of a bygone era....

....dark-toned portraits, columns, sculpted doorframes, rows of doorways, galleries, side corridors that in turn lead to empty salons, salons heavy with ornamentation of a bygone era....

silent rooms, where one's footsteps are absorbed by carpets so thick, so heavy, that no sound reaches one's ear, as if one's very ear were far away, far from the ground, from the carpet, far from this heavy, empty setting, far from this complex frieze running just beneath the ceiling, with its branches and garlands, like ancient leaves, as if the ground were still sand or gravel or flagstones, over which I walked once again as if in search of you, between these walls laden with woodwork, stucco, moldings, paintings, framed prints past which I strode, among which even then, I was waiting for you, far from this setting in which I now find myself standing before you, waiting for the man who will not be coming now, who is not likely to come now to part us again, to tear you away from me. Will you come?'
