This month we feature 2 fine acts, George Quartz and Future Blondes.
FUTURE BLONDES hails from Houston. One might say their sound is that of the horror and mystery of hell, and as if demons had taken over an acid house rave. Some sort of tribal permutation, or perhaps if we bred with aliens during the renaissance.
Have a glance:
GEORGE QUARTZ descends from Dallas town. A man of international mystique and charm. One might rumor he was a retired cop who suffered a mid life crises to become some sort of new millennium lounge singer. Something to scare Gaga back into her cave id say. The rhythmic pulse and melody sweep you away into dance.
See for yourself:
We also are privileged to have the a crew of amazing video/projection artists.
A slew of video synthesis mixing mashup psych wall trivia light source magic will occur.

STRAWBERRIES
Love fruit so delicious, moist and addictive once you were ripe. They touch your lips, you enjoy these times. You have very excited to hit a new experience, she was all young minds.
The natural juices are contaminated, the device runs their own dark poison, how much corruption was any hope in the future like the trees.
Playboy dangerous, and you look back, hope you enjoy these strawberries again.

REVEALED AND CONCEALED
You are running away from something you are hiding. The daily fear of being exposed as a fraud you are living. You often have to be pulled off the mask will reveal the true self. Because hidden in the dark cracks of your withering front, and one night. What will people live as if in the light of freedom?

The mirror is shattered, scattered with water tides moonlit beach. The sound of the jungle is eerie and hypnotic and strange footsteps coming from the water. Now the blood trail, a pool of shimmering glitter, costume, powdered wigs and razor fangs and roses await jewel eyes. They look at you. They let you eat. Your good friend Georgie is one of them. Now you, too.
Mortality goodbye, hello eternity - filled with champagne, exotic spacecraft.
Island of the Glampires
Tonight at 9pm
The Cavern
1914 Lower Greenville
Dallas TX
"Come celebrate a garishly glitzy evening of tropical fever dreams and blood-curdling screams among swaying palms and moonlit waters with George Quartz and his infamous 'After Hours' band.
Also featuring moonage daydreamers DJ Gabriel and Telegram Sam of the now legendary 'Away from the Numbers' parties, who will be smearing lipstick, blood and coconut oil all over the vinyl.
The entire space will be transformed from rock n' roll club to island paradise gone horribly, hideously, fantastically wrong by artist and shaman Lizzy Wetzel, best known for her controversial occult rituals and glitter-laden public orgies involving fur-cloaked figures, cryptozoological skeletons and power crystals.
Thematic costumes are strongly encouraged and those with the best look will be rewarded with immortal beauty and a never-ending tropical vacation.
Come just after sundown and stay forever. Free admission."

IMPROVISATION ON A ‘CONCERTO GENERATOR'
Laurie Spiegel, 1977 (2 min., 40 sec.)
"Under a tight deadline, composer Laurie Spiegel slept in the labs of Bell Telephone while the final components for the Alles synthesizer were being completed. The final composition, commissioned by Bell and the Motion Picture Academy, is seen here in the only existing footage of the first real-time synthesizer being played."
Excerpted from OHM: The Early Gurus of Electronic Music.
PADDLE TO THE SEA
Bill Mason, 1966 (28 min.)
“Based on Holling C. Holling’s beloved Caldecott-awarded children’s book, William Mason’s stunning film follows the adventures of a tiny, wood-carved canoe as it forges its own path from Lake Superior through the Great Lakes and down to the Atlantic Ocean. Buoyed by beautiful photography and a sense of true wonder about the sun, Earth, and water, the Academy Award–nominated Paddle to the Sea is an unforgettable tribute to the forces of the natural world, as well as a thrilling journey across the waves and rapids of North America.”
PHI TA KHON: GHOSTS OF ISAN
Robert Millis and Richard Bishop, 2004 (78 min.)
"Masks and outfits made of coconut husks, rice steamers, shredded rags and clanging bells transform participants of Thailand’s PHI TA KHON festival into ghosts, devils, demons, and spirits unleashed for a bacchanal. Outrageous wooden phalluses and plenty of rice whiskey heighten licentious behavior as MO LAM--Thai country groove music--blasts from makeshift bands in the back of pickup trucks… Described as ‘The Mardi Gras from Hell’ and ‘Thai Halloween" PHI TA KHON is a ghost festival that takes place every year in the Isan province of Northern Thailand."
Filmed on location by Robert Millis and Richard Bishop (Sun City Girls) in June 2004.
