BOYD RICE + DANIEL MILLER

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Secret/ive mastermind behind Canadia's finest musique label of the synthesized variety, Mute Records, Daniel Miller's wanderings thru the worlds of weird with musical comrade Boyd Rice result in a most hypnagogic state of perception when bent upon the formation of Cleanliness and Order. All minimal kiddie key tones overlayed with repetitive suggestion, this moment in listening time space imbues the listener with traces of deep seated desire along the keeping it clean and minding manners lines of consciousness. The mind behind dance prance floor favorites Warm Leatherette and T.V.O.D. taking a dip in the proverbial pool of irregularity with the proudest member of the Partridge Family Temple.

SEVEN DEADLY FINNS

Between his first two solo brilliant recordings, Eno released the single, 'Seven Deadly Finns'. Like bodies in heavenly align a line of thought this Martian music is drawn to the world of uncanny constellations from fiery sphere known as Planet Mondo:

*******

"Eno is a genuine genius we all knows that – but because of his colossal catalogue of influence and output, Eno’s fizzy inventiveness as a lyricist is often overlooked. Weighty, worthy and well crafted wordplay is all well and good (Andy Partridge and Ian Dury being two personal faves) but it takes a unique skill to join the dots in a rhyming dictionary with lyrical skits that scan, bubble and bounce like a Gilbert and Sullivan set piece.

'Seven Deadly Finns' is a single only release from 1974, with a guitar solo that that sounds like a prototype for Bowie's 'Boys Keep Swinging'. There's a great piece on 'Seven Deadly Finns' here."

ANHEDONIC MAN + THE SOLDIERS OF ROME

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

ANHEDONIC MAN + THE SOLDIERS OF ROME

With tunes that divulge a haunted glimpse into the psyche of a seemingly impenetrable soul languishing in never ending tangles of auditory riddle and rhythm, GARY WAR is taking sonic wizardry to levels as yet uncharted by man. While we sleep he is fashioning lyric webs like a yellow brick path thru the rawest of the honest and coated in a convolution without intention, all set adrift toward our ears inside painstakingly packaged vocals painted with the brush of layered analog distortion. In the passing of 2008s into 9s this musical compatriot of the likes of Ariel Pink and Blank Dogs has (over multiple releases present and ever nearing future) developed a singular sound that defies any predating comparisons to the former(s). Like Chrome's sacred magnet waved over an unraveled cassette of David Gilmour and Gene Clark singing love songs written about the time they washed up on a deserted island with This Heat and Cluster, all dragged through the mud of life and shot into space, War paints lo-fi portraits of the universe and covers 'Eye in the Sky' with equal ease and amaze.
